I was born, raised, and schooled in Los Angeles, California. My invigorating 6th grade experience with my dynamic teacher Mr. Boice inspired me to also be a teacher. I also found a natural fluency to mathematics and found joy in solving problems for the sake of solving problems, so eventually I combined my excitement for teaching with my love of math. I graduated from UCLA with my Bachelor's in Mathematics for Teaching and my Master's in Education, then went on to teach high school mathematics for 4 years in East Oakland. I loved working with students, making complex ideas accessible to them and opening up their minds to the unbridled nature of mathematics as a profound and beautiful art (not just as a mandatory school subject). However, this work often found me working for 12 hours a day, which was not great for my relationship with my incredible fiancee. Tutoring will allow me to be the passionate, reliable, intentional husband, father, AND educator that I want to be all at once.
